These ulcers typically manifest beneath the ankle due to factors such as diminished capillary and arterial circulation, neuropathy, and abnormalities in foot shape. The prevalence of ulcers among diabetes patients in Indonesia is documented at 15% (Oktorina et al., 2019). The American Diabetes Association recommends that individuals with type 1 and 2 diabetes engage in moderate to high-intensity aerobic exercise for 60 minutes daily. Walking Shoes designed for diabetic foot ulcers can facilitate comfortable engagement in aerobic activities, thereby mitigating the risk of exacerbating wounds. This study aims to explore opportunities for an effective walking shoe product tailored to individuals with diabetic foot ulcers, taking into account diverse levels and locations of wounds. Qualitative research methods, including interviews, participant observation, and literature review, were employed to collect data. Through this research process, a product was developed to address the varied needs of diabetic foot ulcer patients, emphasizing factors such as pressure reduction, biomechanics, comfort, and adjustability. text |
