INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/80175 Motivated by the growing demand for sustainable energy sources in the country, the study focuses on identifying factors influencing the adoption of solar stoves and explores challenges hindering their widespread acceptance. Utilizing in-depth interviews with potential users, the research reveals a promising level of technological adoption, indicating the ability of housewives to use the solar stove. However, social adaptation remains relatively low due to constraints such as dependence on sunny days, the stove's cumbersome size, and limited indoor use. The analysis suggests a refined product design to address identified challenges. Specifically, improvements include enhancing usability during low light conditions through the incorporation of vacuum tube technology. This innovation not only facilitates usage in suboptimal lighting but also reduces the size of the stove. Furthermore, to overcome spatial limitations and encourage indoor use, the proposed design integrates an electric heater, battery, and solar panels. These modifications aim to enhance both the technological and social dimensions of solar stove adoption, contributing to the broader goal of promoting sustainable energy practices in Indonesia. text
