Description
Summary:Some of Indonesian professionals work and stay with family in Qatar change their life perceptions during pandemic and decided to quit, impacting to others. This study is to explore factors of job and life satisfaction influencing intention to leave including moderation role of life satisfaction. The quantitative approach using questionnaire about job and life satisfaction was used to test research hypotheses using Structural Equation Mode. It has 26 factors, according to Herzberg's Two-Factor and Clayton Alderfer's ERG Theory, with seven Likert scale. 292 respondents participated in survey, 92.1% above 40 years old and more than 10 years of living in Qatar (77.5%) at the same job position (43.8%). The model shows that motivators have a strong positive correlation with job satisfaction, while hygiene factors have a moderately negative correlation. Selected factors addressed the factors in job satisfaction excluding operating conditions and job security. Whereas for life satisfaction, existence needs are strongly positively correlation, and growth needs have not significant correlation. Unexpected negative correlation is shown between relatedness need and life satisfaction. Both job and life satisfaction negatively have correlations with intention to leave, and life satisfaction significantly negatively moderate the relationship between job satisfaction and intention to leave. Other findings, people feel moderately satisfied with promotion, reward and less confident about future pay increases and financial security even though highly satisfied with current pay and financial stability. Therefore, addressing and improving future finances can make people satisfied with their lives, which could help keep them from leaving their jobs.
