However, attention to worldbuilding studies is still lacking compared to character and narrative. Involving the worldbuilding process, not only helps the audience understand the setting of the story, but also feels present in the world being built, creating emotional resonance, nostalgia and a strong connection. Integrating elements that are known and close to the audience, one of which is cultural elements, plays a big role in forming a connection with the world being built. The uniqueness of Indonesian culture, from Sabang to Merauke, can be an inspiration for regional animation that remains globally relevant. The research will be related to the animated series Puyu to The Rescue which shows the shortcomings in worldbuilding. Integrating cultural backgrounds, specifically chosen as Bali, can increase its depth and specificity. The process of creating worldbuilding involves a variety of approaches and methods, with each creator having their own unique way of adapting cultural elements with the aim of creating a realistic world. Therefore, it is very important to know the most effective methods and processes in implementing Balinese culture into worldbuilding structures and elements. The method used in this design is the double diamond method. Preliminary data collection involves literature studies, comparative studies, observations, and interviews. The analysis results show two approaches in building a realistic world by adapting culture. However, to design worldbuilding based on Balinese culture, creativity is needed so that the implementation not only feels real but can also create an authentic atmosphere. Without innovation, the narrative will be limited to the real world, and worldbuilding will not occur. Therefore, it can be done by adopting two approaches to the adaptation method, namely imitating real locations to provide physical space for events in the story and capturing the atmosphere, essence and mood colors that reflect the uniqueness of the location, can be effective. text
