IDENTIFICATION OF THE ROLE OF DESA TANGGAP COVID-19 IN PREVENTING COVID-19 DURING THE PANDEMIC IN WONOTIRTO VILLAGE, BLITAR DISTRICT

In the beginning of 2020, the pandemic of COVID-19 started worldwide and originated from Wuhan, China. The virus started in Indonesia in 2 March 2020 and caused 160 thousand people died. Following the development of COVID-19 pandemic that was spreading quickly, the government released The Circulation Letter Number 8/2020 on Desa Tanggap COVID-19 and Assertion of Padat Karya Tunai Desa by The Ministry of Regional Development of the Village, Left, and Transmigration. Desa Tanggap COVID-19 policy then becomes the very first one in preventing COVID-19 including in the Wonotirto Village Blitar Regency. Therefore, a research about the role of Desa Tanggap COVID-19 in preventing COVID-19 in villages is needed. The research purpose is to identify the role of Desa Tanggap COVID-19 for COVID-19 prevention in COVID-19 pandemic, identified by the problems of COVID-19, implementation of Desa Tanggap COVID-19, and Desa Tanggap COVID-19’s impact. The data is collected using purposive sampling method for Relawan Desa Lawan COVID-19 in Wonotirto Village Blitar Regency. The analysis is qualitative analysis using process coding. Research’s result shows that significant problems that are economic problems, inadequate telecommunication infrastructure, unequally distributed human resources, and stigma to COVID-19 positive patient do exist. The problems of breaking the health protocols is a minor problem in Wonotirto Village. Implementation of Desa Tanggap COVID-19 is done according to Relawan Desa Lawan COVID-19 protocols and gets a good response. The implementation also succeed in making local people participate. The impact from Desa Tanggap COVID-19 is digitalization, effective COVID-19 prevention, and feeling safe. People start doing online education, Work From Home, and online selling. COVID-19 prevention also becomes easier and succeed in creating a safe feeling in people of Wonotirto Village.
