According to Statista data, the number of downloads of Indonesian health and fitness applications rose 50.5% compared to 2018, reaching 13.17 million in 2021. With the number of existing applications, there is still no mobile health application specifically available for thyroid patients in Indonesia, even though thyroid disorders themselves are a health problem that is quite common in Indonesia. According to the Indonesian Ministry of Health, there are more than 1.7 million Indonesians who suffer from goiter, which can be caused by hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, or euthyroidism. Based on this potential, this research aims to analyze the health monitoring needs of thyroid patients, through an in-depth understanding of the empathy process used to create a mobile application interface plan that can support monitoring activities for thyroid patients. This research uses the Design Thinking method through the UI/UX Design design approach guided by The Five Planes design model by Garett (2011). Data collection was carried out using a qualitative approach through questionnaires, and interviews with thyroid patients as well as carrying out usability tests on actual users using the Usability Testing method. The research results show that there are two needs for thyroid patients related to medical and non-medical, non-medical needs in this case practical support which contains the Medication Reminder feature, Routine examination schedule reminders, Health Records, and Symptom Tracker can support self-care activities. monitoring thyroid patients very well. It was found that Medication Reminder is the feature most frequently used as a medium for monitoring thyroid patients, where users can set medication schedules based on type, name, time, and duration according to medical instructions. This shows that the feature in practical support can effectively help thyroid patients in their treatment activities. text |
