Therefore, the company must ensure that the performance of its human resources is of high quality. In a newly established startup named Catalogy, attention is currently being given to its human resources. By utilizing Objective Key Results (OKR) to assess the achievements of employees and the company, it was found that the overall fulfillment of all goals is only 1%, which is unacceptable. Hence, the goal of this research is to identify the factors influencing employee performance and how motivation affects employee performance at Catalogy. Additionally, it aims to explore strategies that can be implemented to enhance employee performance at Catalogy. The research method employed in this study is qualitative research using James P Spradley's ethnographic analysis method, examining and understanding the individual or organizational impact on a problem through in-depth interviews. The results of this research indicate a relationship between employee motivation and employee performance, based on motivation factors and hygiene factors. In the motivation factor component, the respondents perceive the presence of these factors except for work itself, advancement and personal growth. Meanwhile, in hygiene factors, none of the factors are perceived except for supervisor quality. These factors influence the motivation and enthusiasm of the informants, who are the Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operational Officer. Therefore, the strategy that can be used to build employee motivation and enthusiasm is to pay attention to each factor that is not yet optimal. It is hoped that this research will be beneficial for Catalogy as a means of improvement to enhance the motivation and enthusiasm of employees, thus contributing positively to the progress of the company. text
