DESIGN MILLERâS CIRCUIT CONVERTER AS 8/6 SWITCHED RELUCTANCE MOTOR CONTROLLER
Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) has a large torque-to-weight ratio, simple construction, and low production costs. However, SRM requires a converter device that is different from other electric motors. The SRM converter is designed to be able to eliminate the electric current in one of the phase...

However, SRM requires a converter device that is different from other electric motors. The SRM converter is designed to be able to eliminate the electric current in one of the phase windings and provide electric current to the other phase windings quickly. This is done so that a larger average torque can be obtained, and the performance of the SRM motor can be improved. In this final project, writer going to design controller for SRM 8/6 450 W. There are three converters that are considered in alternative solutions for the SRM 8/6 450 W controller designed, namely Asymmetric H-Bridge (AHB), Share Circuit, and Miller's Circuit. AHB. The selection of the most optimal alternative solutions is determined by using the Multiple Decision Criteria Matrix. The parameters used for the selection of these decisions are the number of switching components, system performance, economy, and the level of complexity of the control system. Using the above mentioned methods and parameters, Miller's Circuit was selected as the most optimal SRM 8/6 450 W motor controller design solution. Miller's circuit has the fewest components compared to the other two types of converters. That way, production costs become cheaper and there is a smaller mass and volume as well. text |
