Summary: | Bandung is a city full of heritage sites and historical buildings. As time passed,
many of the buildings that actually had a high historical value became desolate and
upleasant to look at. That is why it is necessary to introduce the younger generation
as one of the efforts to preseve the heritage of historical sites in the city of Bandung.
One of them is the use of media technology, which is currently in the trend, namely
through metaverse and digital twin. Lembur Digital Bandung Raya (Legit) is a
project that combines SMKN 1 Cimahi and ITB PPTIK and aims to preserve
historical buildings in Bandung City in the form of an immersive virtual world
including digital twin. One part of this Legit project is to model some historic
buildings or sites into 3D models through the 3D Blender and implement them into
the virtual world through Unity 3D. The immersive virtual world development
through the Unity3D has various obstacles such as reinforcement on SteamVR and
character development that is still unconnected perfectly. For this it is necessary to
transfer the design platform and 3D modeling of historical buildings of Kota
Bandung from Unity 3D to a version of the website that is more accessible using
CesiumJs technology. At the development of websites 3D modelling was carried out
on the model of the city of Bandung and its surroundings using QGIS with the
addition of one city from Jakarta. In this study, the author uses a quantitative
method with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)-Prototype approach that
has several early design stages on an application. For testing the performance of
the generated website, the authors used GTMetrix as a tool to analyze the
performance and speed of time in displaying content on the Cesium Demo website.
The results of website performance testing showed that Cesium Demo has a
performance score of 67% with a structure score of 86%, which shows how well
the website page Cesium Demo is made for optimal performance. |
