Inundation is a phenomenon of permanent flood of dry land. This phenomenon is caused by sea level rise, floods and/or land subsidence. Inundation causes obliterated land, where plots of land are naturally permanently flooded by sea water over time. Obliterated land includes plots of land that have changed their shape due to natural events, can no longer be identified, cannot be functioned, used and exploited as they should. The legal consequence of this phenomenon is that the land rights may be revoked by the state. Thus the owner may lose the right to control, use or take advantage of the land because the land is lost in part or in whole. In this research, land parcel that is identified to have the potential to be obliterated in Pekalongan City is land parcel in which 100% of the land area is affected by inundation of at least 60 cm of height. Of the total 33,059 land parcels that have been identified in Pekalongan City, 5,654 land parcels have the potential to be obliterated. Kelurahan Padukuhan Kraton has the highest number of land parcels that are potentially obliterated. Meanwhile, in Kelurahan Bandengan, there are only 301 land parcels that have the potentially to be obliterated. On the other hand, currently there are two kelurahan namely Kelurahan Bandengan and Kandang Panjang that more than 40% of their areas are inundated. text |
