This research aims to identify changes in the CPUE of swordfish (Xiphias gladius) in the Indian Ocean with respect to IOD variations. The method used in this study is statistical analysis between swordfish CPUE and the IOD phenomenon that occurs, then the spatial distribution of CPUE is created and compared with predictions according to optimal conditions based on previous studies using the Geographic Information System. The main data includes fish catch data from the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission and SST from the AQUA-MODIS satellite. The results show that in the SETIO area CPUE conditions decrease when a negative IOD occurs and CPUE increases when a positive IOD occurs, while in the WTIO area CPUE conditions increase when a negative IOD occurs and CPUE decreases when a positive IOD occurs, but there are several case that show an increase due to the influence of other oceanographic phenomena. text
