Description
Summary:The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted on education. School closures for almost two academic years in Indonesia indicate a learning loss. Research conducted in many countries in the world to estimate effect of learning loss that experienced by students. It concluded that there was a significant decrease in mathematics learning outcomes in the Netherlands and America. Research on learning loss that is more specific regarding Pythagorean Theorem was carried out by comparing mean of learning outcomes of students in class VIII SMP in the 2020/2021, 2021/2022, and 2022/2023 academic years using a mixed-methods approach. A total of 191 data were analysed using ANOVA. The results of the analysis conclude that the mean of student learning outcomes in the three academic years are not significantly different. Factors gender and socio-economic status (SES) have no effect on student scores. Interviews with teachers confirmed a decrease in student learning interest during learning during the pandemic.
