This also requires railway contractors to increase construction productivity, quality and cost efficiency. One of the efforts that can be done is through the application of construction equipment technology. Based on this, it is necessary to have an initial formulation and mapping in the application of current construction equipment so that it can be taken into consideration in the formulation of a construction technology strategic plan, especially for Indonesian railway contractors. This mapping is described as a technological landscape where this research will look at the development and position of Indonesia towards the world in rail road construction equipment technology, see an overview of the current application of rail road construction equipment, to an initial description of the needs of rail road construction equipment in the future. The results of the study show that the development of mechanization of rail road construction equipment in Indonesia started around the 1980s, while in the world it was carried out in the 1940s. And in the current implementation position, the rail road construction equipment applied in Indonesia is in the form of earthwork machines and medium equipment, while in global application it has been mechanized with special purpose machine and large/heavy equipment groups. Then in the description the implementation is still hampered due to several factors such as construction equipment factors such as tool damage, procurement costs, loss and also the lack of operators, then there are construction area/field factors related to the mobilization of tools and socio-cultural factors related to protests from local residents. Likewise, the influence of the driving factors on the technological aspects, organizational aspects and environmental aspects for contractors. And for an overview of technology needs, where technology in the category of special purpose machines and large/heavy equipment becomes the technology requirement for rail road construction in the future according to the contractor. text |
