Summary: | Innovation has become a company priority at this time. One of the sub-processes of innovation is the development of new products. Information technology creates a new type of new product development, namely Digital Product and Service Innovation (DPI). DPI is defined as the development of new products and services using digital technology. Previous research has discussed the effect of IT capabilities (reflected by IT infrastructure, IT business span, and IT proactive attitude) on DPI performance mediated by DPI capabilities (reflected by digital technology, digital solutions, and digital business concepts). When companies want to improve DPI performance, it is very important to analyze changes in the required resources in IT capabilities. Therefore, this study wants to develop the capability of the IT concept by adding IT project management which is reflected by plan-based and agility-based. In addition, this study also wants to look at other factors that might moderate the influence of IT capabilities on DPI performance, namely technology orientation.
This study conducted an online survey using a questionnaire. The survey was conducted on companies that have developed digital products and services operating in Indonesia, represented by people who have a role in regulating the development of the company's digital products and services. Data processing is carried out using 58 company data. The method used is PLS-SEM to predict whether IT capabilities can increase DPI performance.
This study shows that IT capabilities do not have a significant effect on DPI performance but DPI capabilities mediates this influence. Other results show that technology orientation does not moderate the effect of IT capabilities on DPI performance. |
