THE USE OF ONESTREAM FOR PLANNING, BUDGETING & FORECASTING TO OPTIMIZE CAPITAL ACCOUNTING ADMINISTRATION SYSTEM & ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

OneStream is a new system used by PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) for Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting (PBF). Previously, PTFI used regular excel file to update forecast. Based on the need to increase forecast accuracy, to enhance forecast detail, to intensify forecast update frequency, and to implement data integration and forecasting process, forecast system needed to be enhanced to use some system. Even if OneStream started to be implemented in 2Q23 Forecast Update, since OneStream is a new application, there are still some further developments needed after being implemented, and this research conducts a thorough evaluation of the OneStream application. It critically assesses how OneStream contributes to the enhancement of efficiency and performance within PBF’s capital accounting system, utilizing a weighted score methodology. The study meticulously examines three strategic approaches for OneStream’s implementation to optimize its performance: its continuation, improvement, or integration with other applications. With the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) playing a crucial role in facilitating multi-criteria decision-making, the findings suggest that the integration of OneStream with other applications emerges as the most advantageous strategy. This necessitates a comprehensive integration plan and a robust organizational development strategy to enhance collaboration and monitoring efficacy. The study highlights OneStream’s potential to significantly improve operational efficiency and strategic decision-making within PTFI.
