One way to achieve this objective is by adding pour/cloud point depressant to the biodiesel.<p> <br /> <br /> <br /> This study evaluted the effectiveness of some addtivies such as poly ethylene glycol, diethyl hexyl adiphate, commercial additives, and ozonized vegetable oils (Conola oil, soybean oil, sun flower oil, and palm oil). The effects of types and concentration of additives on density and viscosity were evaluated.<p> <br /> <br /> <br /> The results of this study showed that the addition of some of the above could not affect cloud point, but could reduce pour point. The highest reduction in pour point have been obtained by addition of poly ethylene glycol as much as 4000 ppm. The reduction in pour point of the biodiesel by addition of ozonized vegetable oils additives was effective at concentration of 1%-weight. The density and viscosity of the biodiesel could not be affected by addition of these additives, except by ozonized vegetable oils. text |
