INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/80670 The development of industry along the main road of Rancaekek-Cicalengka has affected the water quality of surface water and sediments in the vicinity, one of which affected is rice paddy field around Cikijing River. In the process of industrial production, heavy metals, especially cadmium (Cd), copper (Cu), chromium (Cr), and zinc (Zn) are used in the process of dyeing, printing, coating, etc. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to analyse the metal content of Cd, Cu, Cr, and Zn in the water irigations, mud, and rice from rice paddy field around Cikijing River. Concentrations of heavy metals were analysed using Inductively Couple Plasma tool with Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES). Sample preparation is done with a aqua regia destruction method. The results showed that the average concentration of the metal in water sampel is 0,0017 mg/L Cd (0,0001 to 0,0037 mg/L), 0,0634 mg/L Cr (0,0062 to 0,2104 mg/L), 0,0243 mg/L Cu (0,0031 to 0,0460 mg/L), and 0,2445 mg/L Zn (0,0418 to 0,6746 mg/L); mud sample is 6,5495 mg/L Cd (12,7525 to 3,9125 mg/L), 99,4233 mg/L Cr (50,0150 to 174,0350 mg/L), 39,7323 mg/L Cu (22,2575 to 61,2250 mg/L), and 90,5843 mg/L Zn (26,5225 to 157,1075 mg/L); and rice sample is 0,1167 mg/L Cr (0 – 0,2850 mg/L), 3,5170 mg/L Cu(1,3500 – 5,4150 mg/L), 15,02325 mg/L Zn(8,7625 to 21,9500 mg/L) . From these data, it appears that the concentration of the metal in a few sample was above the quality standard .From the analysis of the Pearson correlasion for water, mud and rice sample, it showed that water sample affect the mud and rice sample in weak way. If the concentration of heavy metals in water samples are increasing, so that heavy metals on mud and rice plant is also effected weakly and not significant. text
