Rob., va ra Littoralis Blume, is one of the species of plant found in Indonesia and its alkaloid constituen has never been reported. The present work was carried out on the root bark of this plant. Isolation was carried out by using the extraction method, namely the meceration method that produced an alkaloid which easily decomposed under the influence of air and light. By TLC examination, 5 spots were obtained with Rf 0.19 ; 0.35 ; 0.69 ; and 0.82. Three of the five spots showed positive test toward Dragendorff reagent. To separate each component, column chromatography was carried out by using silica gel as the stationary phase and the organic solvent chloroform, benzene, and methanol as the mobile phases. The second spot with Rf 0.74, give crystalline compound, m.p. 164-166 oC. Spectroscopic data of this compound identicative of a boldin, while the other compounds were not further investigated text
