Summary: | The location of Indonesia which is in the ring of fire path causes Indonesia to have
many active volcanoes. The existence of the volcano is a source of geothermal
energy. Geothermal energy is a renewable and environmentally friendly alternative
energy. Indonesia has a large geothermal potential. To maximize geothermal
potential, it is necessary to develop good geothermal exploration technology. In the
geothermal exploration stage, a geophysical method is needed to prove the
subsurface conditions in the form of a geothermal system using the magnetotelluric
method. In this study, the magnetotelluric method will be used to analyze the
underground structure of the ‘x’ area. In the magnetotelluric method, the four
Maxwell equations will be derived to obtain the apparent resistivity and phase. The
resistivity distribution will vary from small to large in units of ohm.m.
