description |
The increase in plastic use has led to an increase in plastic waste and environmental
pollution. One effort that can be made to reduce plastic waste is by recycling plastic waste.
Plastic shredding machines are tools that are often used in the recycling process. However,
the use of plastic shredder machines often encounters significant challenges such as blades
getting stuck, which can slow down or even stop the entire shredding process. Starting from
this problem, a system is needed that can detect the potential of blades getting stuck in plastic
shredder machines and provide a solution in the form of appropriate control responses when
such conditions are reached.
In this research, a control system module has been developed to handle conditions
where blades get stuck in plastic shredder machines at the ITB Production Engineering
Laboratory. This control system module can retrieve and display measurement data from
current sensors, voltage, and shaft rotation. When the sensor values reach certain limits, this
module can make decisions to handle blade-stuck situations during the shredding process.
The developed control system module has been successfully created and has the
ability to handle issues such as blades getting stuck in plastic shredder machines. After
testing, the results of 10 tests for each parameter showed that the current, voltage, and shaft
rotation parameters that have been set can function properly in handling blades getting stuck
in plastic shredder machines. When one of the conditions from the three parameters is met,
the module can detect the potential occurrence of problems and take action to stop the
shredding operation and then reverse the direction of blade rotation. |
