Summary:Electric commerce (e-commerce) is so populat in the world these days that many companies and stores are starting to create their own online stores. One of the companies in Indonesia that implements an e-commerce system in marketing its products is PT Gramedia Asri Media. Gramedia is the largest bookstore in Indonesia that sells a variety of books, stationery, school and office equipment, children's toys, sports equipment, music, fashion and accessories. Based on interview with Gramedia and reviews from Google Play Store, that one of the main problems of Gramedia mobile application is usability. This research aims to identify and evaluate problems and provide suggestions for user interface improvements based on the usabillity approach. The research was conducted using usability testing method. Usability evaluation was implemented with four tasks, which are saving address data, viewing the order status of purchased products, searching for product stock information, and searching for books in the "Humor" category menu. The data collected are effectiveness, efficiency, error, user satisfaction, and retrospective think aloud (RTA) data. This research was carried out with 20 new user participants. The results showed that the Gramedia mobile application was not yet fully effective because only task 1 had an effectiveness value of 100% and task 2 had a value of 60%. The application is also not fully efficient because it has a high standard deviation of task completion time where task 1 is 32.43 seconds, task 2 is 28.66 seconds, task 3 is 34.01 seconds, and task 4 is 23.06 seconds. For user satisfaction, the "Screen" category has the lowest score of 6.25 out of 9.00 with the lowest sub-category being "Information Organization" with a score of 5.50. The improvement proposals obtained are 17 suggestions.
