These styles are found at different elevations, which could be categorized into highlands, midlands, and lowlands. Each region has its unique architectural characteristics. This research focuses on exploring the typical features of traditional Indonesian house architecture in the midlands. The midlands, located between 200 to 700 meters above sea level, host a significant concentration of vernacular settlements in Indonesia. Typology analysis involves classifying the physical characteristics of buildings and their surroundings based on the forms of traditional houses within specific geographic boundaries. This typological study will draw conclusions regarding the characteristic features of vernacular architecture and settlements in the midlands. Furthermore, the findings from this research will serve as valuable material for mapping the architectural richness of traditional houses in Indonesia, particularly in the midland regions. text
