Description
Summary:Power converter with switching mode, which is widely used in power electronics circuits, has some advantages including high efficiency, flexible output voltage, and lightweight. One of the power converters with switching mode is the Cuk converter, which can produce an output voltage lower or higher than the input voltage but with reverse voltage polarization. In addition, Cuk converter also has a capacitor as an isolation between the input and the output side. In previous studies, the Cuk converter was modified so that it has an output voltage polarization that is not reversed like a conventional Cuk converter but with continuous input and output currents like a conventional Cuk converter. Circuits with switching in power electronics will produce hybrid behavior naturally. Control is needed on this switching so that the hybrid behavior of the converter does not cause problems and is able to overcome disturbances or changes that occur. Modified Cuk converter has a non-linear nature caused by switching activity so non-linear control is needed. The non-linear control design that is generally used for the power converter is complicated. So in this study, the authors proposed a control scheme for a modified Cuk converter based on a hybrid model. The proposed control scheme has the advantage of a simpler and easier design and tuning process. The expected result of this research is a control scheme that is simple and easy to design on this modified Cuk converter which is able to overcome disturbances or changes that occur in the circuit by giving control commands to the switching.
