LIQUEFACTION POTENTIAL ZONE MODELING WITH 2D GEOELECTRIC METHOD IN TALANGEMPAT AND SURROUNDING, BENGKULU TENGAH DISTRICT

The quality of soil characteristics plays an important role in preventing damage and disasters, especially liquefaction disasters. The liquefaction phenomenon is triggered by earthquakes, causing the soil to lose its strength. Liquefaction often occurs in sediments that are loose and unconsolidated....

The liquefaction phenomenon is triggered by earthquakes, causing the soil to lose its strength. Liquefaction often occurs in sediments that are loose and unconsolidated. The research area across Talangempat District, Central Bengkulu is located in a zone that is prone to seismic activity and is composed of loose silty clay-sand deposits. Soil investigations as initial planning investigations can be carried out as a form of liquefaction mitigation. Therefore, this research aims to be the first step in soil investigation to determine the potential for areas that do not experience liquefaction. The research uses geoelectrical method to determine lithology and geotechnical methods to determine the factor of safety (FS) from the cyclic stress ratio (CSR) and cyclic resistance ratio (CRR) values for the analysis of liquefaction potential occurring in the research area. The analysis results shows that the liquefaction potential in track L-01 is 100%, L-02, the liquefaction potential is 68.75%. In track L-03, the liquefaction potential is 62.5% and the L-04 track, the liquefaction potential is 62.5%. The types of lithology composed in the research area are alluvium (14-54 ?.m), saturated sand (2- 7.6 ?.m), and clay (2-7.6 ?.m). text
