Single crystal nickel alloys are used because the service life of single crystal components is longer compared to equiaxed and columnar components. Before the service life expires, turbine components are repaired because repair is more economical than component replacement due to the high cost of single crystal components. This study aims to investigate the results of repairs using surface remelting method with Atlas TCM300D laser welding machine, measure melt pool dimensions, and study the microstructure of surface remelting results. The methods used include visual observation using stereo microscope, metallography using optical microscope, and Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) characterization. The results of this study indicate that the Atlas TCM300D laser machine can be used for surface remelting processes, as evidenced by the formation of a melt pool. The results of surface remelting show that the lengths X and Y of the resulting weld are different, resulting in asymmetrical weld shapes. Variations in height are observed on the left and right sides of the melt pool cross-section. The microstructure of the surface remelting process using the Atlas TCM300D machine exhibits columnar dendritic morphology aligned with the substrate's dendrites. Misoriented grains are also formed in the region surrounding carbide. text |

Turbine is a crucial component in jet engines. Turbines require materials that are resistant to high temperatures, making them susceptible to creep failure. Single crystal nickel alloys are used because the service life of single crystal components is longer compared to equiaxed and columnar components. Before the service life expires, turbine components are repaired because repair is more economical than component replacement due to the high cost of single crystal components.
