Increasing the water supply is important to support the water demands around the world. Water reuse has been the new trend to improve the water source available usually for a new clean water source. Fenton process is a process that uses ferrous iron (in the form of ferrous sulphate) to activate peroxides (in the form of hydrogen peroxide) into hydroxyl radicals, can be utilized for water reuse. This experiment aims to determine the potential of Fenton Process to treat apartment effluent for reuse. Apartment is used as an example of centralized wastewater treatment plant. Optimal condition is determined by a variation that is able to reach the government standard of clean water source of 10 mg/L of COD and highest removal efficiency. The optimum condition is H2O2 mass ratio of 2 : 1, initial pH of 3.5, and ferrous sulphate ratio of 15 : 1 which reaches 94% COD removal. The removal of other polutants is 90% turbidity, 98% BOD, 39% ammonia, 99% nitrite, and no nitrate reduction. The optimal condition is experimented once more by analyzing the pH, Dissolved Oxygen, nitrogen removal by time, and the final parameter measurement. pH analysis shows there is no need for further addition of pH during the reaction as in itself is already efficient. DO analysis shows the rise and fall of DO during the reaction. Nitrogen removal shows the mass balance of the nitrogen in a form of ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. It shows that ammonia is able to oxidize to nitrite and nitrite to nitrate hence increasing the concentration of nitrate. The final parameter result is compared with the clean water source standard and hygiene & sanitation water standard. The final result shows that pH, TDS, and Turbidity has not yet complies with the hygiene standard. Neutralization of pH and further reduction of TDS and Turbidity must be done. Organic components of BOD and COD, nitrogens, all complies with the hygiene and sanitation standard with exception of ammonia. The Fenton Process Reagant costs Rp 19,940 /m3 which is higher than clean water from PDAM Tirtawening that costs Rp 1,000 /m3 .
