INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/81185 Production drop in geothermal field affect steam supply delivered to geothermal power plant thus loss capacity potentially could happen if no sufficient steam buffer available. Besides, significant production drop causes much more make up wells need to be drilled that also cause significant drilling cost to for the operator. Production drop in geothermal field can occur either by natural phenomenon such reservoir pressure drop or by factors such scaling, wellbore integrity issue, feedzone plugging, and other. From all those factors, scaling is the major cause of production decline in worldwide geothermal field. To overcome this problem, geothermal field operators implement efforts to improve production with well intervention to solve both wellbore and reservoir issue. Conventional cleaning methods which have been done in geothermal field X aim to clean the scale in wellbore both by mechanical cleaning and acidizing. While study must be carried out to stimulate two phase wells where the challenge is more to bring brine production back. Study is conducted in geothermal field X with long term target to realize production balance from both dry steam and two-phase wells. The study is conducted with various method started from collecting required data, analyzing production performance in field X individually with decline analysis, well categorization and its commerciality, comprehensive PTS analysis, flashing location, saturation index analysis, accessibility evolution, and skin analysis. From this comprehensive individual well analysis, new chemical method study is conducted to solve wells problems. Cutting sample and scale sample are tested with some chemical solution to simulate sample solubility to know this new chemical method can stimulate scaling beyond formation. Potential improvement from this new chemical method is more than 75% improving the production. This study can be implemented for other two-phase wells in Indonesia to recover production back. text
