Description
Summary:Global warming is one of the causes of the increase in earth's surface temperature and erratic climate change. Coastal ecosystems such as mangrove trees and seagrass meadows have the ability to absorb carbon contained in the atmosphere. The Thousand Islands, which consists of many coastal areas, has great potential to become a carbon trading area, educational tourism, and environmental conservation. Pramuka Island, which is one of the islands part of the Thousand Islands, is directed as the center of administrative district government services, tourism, and settlements based on the 2030 DKI Jakarta Provincial Spatial Plan. Pramuka Island has experienced development and development since its establishment as an area of the Thousand Islands Administrative Regency which can be seen from the increasing number of residents and the number of tourists. The development of Pramuka Island is not accompanied by an increase in environmental quality, tourism area management, and good spatial planning, causing a decrease in the quality of aquatic ecosystems, inappropriate land use change, and other problems. To overcome the problems that occur on Pramuka Island, especially the Pramuka Island Mangrove Conservation Area as a potential area, it is necessary to have good planning, design, and readiness. The design approach with ecotourism principles is one method to increase the vitality of the area by considering environmental sustainability. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive analysis method of potential, site design problems, and fulfillment of ecotourism principles on the site, as well as internal and external analysis of the site. The analysis carried out is based on primary data such as interviews and observations and secondary data such as design documents, policy documents, etc. which are then processed by the fragmental design method. The results of the analysis and design that have been carried out show that there is no maximum space utilization, good management, and many tourist facilities are not maintained and damaged. For this reason, this research will provide some guidelines, recommendations, designs, and design concepts to help area managers, local governments, stakeholders, planners and local communities as a consideration for designing the Pramuka Island Mangrove Conservation Area to improve the function of the area and environmental sustainability.
