Using this kind of data, we cannot see the distribution of the data itself in the real world. So, we cannot obtain a lot of information as much as we can because the data wasn’t completed yet, homogen, and wasn’t representatif. But actually the case is, in such a planning program (region or city), the population of the people is an important element because the development planning itself is established for people where they were living in (Deliar, 2003). Because of that, we need a complete and details information which can give information both about spasial data and atribut data. Nowadays, remote sensing technology is playing an important role to give alternatif solution about the needs of the data of the earth surface instantly or time series. Because in every time and in every places, remote sensing satellite records the data of the earth surface. So, if we need it, we can obtain it from satellit whenever we want and wherever we want as quick as you want. This research will tell us about how does remote sensing imagery can be applied in analyzing population density distribution so that we can obtain a newer model of it. In this case, the model is called a land use density methode based on least square principle. With this type of method, finally we can discover the population density distribution map which can describe the representaion of the real world based from the population data. text
