In this final project, two wobble components of polar motion, annual and Chandler, analyzed by means of wavelet transformation from polar motion EOP C01 series of IERS. Morlet wavelets used with different quality factors. By comparing different wavelet used, the best results were extracted. The results show that annual wobble has relative constant period dan amplitud over time at aproximately 365 days dan 0.1 arcsecond while Chandler’s not constant at all. In term of period, Chandler wobble has it’s amplitud oscillate on aproximately 20 years with the highest at 1911, 1952, and 1993 at about 0.23, 0.28, and 0.19 arcsecond. Overall without considering the anomaly taken place at interval 1920-1940, Chandler period is about 433 days. On that time span, Chandler divided into three periode, 422, 440, and 456 days. text |
