Description
Summary:A safe and comfortable city is one of the main criteria in determining the quality of a city. One of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is sustainable cities and communities. In the context of urban sustainability, the issue of security becomes very relevant, especially when it is related to crime rates in an urban area. Urban spatial designing has a significant influence on crime rates, but the existing Spatial Plan are the Urban Land Use Plan and Detailed Spatial Layout Plan of Bandung City has not yet detailed the spatial arrangement, design of physical elements, and layout of settlements to reduce opportunities for the criminal acts. The location of this study is a residential area in Sukagalih Village, Sukajadi Sub-District, Bandung City. The location was chosen because the majority of the area is residential with mixed land use. In addition, Sukagalih Village is located in the sub-district with the highest crime rate in Bandung City, namely Sukajadi Sub-district. This research will produce a design guide on how to build and improve the physical environment as an effort to reduce crime rates using the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) concept. This concept is one of the concepts that discusses indicators in crime prevention efforts in terms of spatial arrangement, design of physical elements, and layout of settlements. It is hoped that this final project can make an important contribution in improving the security and quality of life of the community in the residential area in Sukagalih Village, Bandung City
