INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/81268 The Cultural Heritage Site of Pawon Cave and its surrounding area has been studied for over 20 years; however, accessible geospatial data remains limited. The utilization of Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) presents a non-intrusive method for archaeologists, reducing the risk of damage to archaeological targets and aiding in the preservation of cave sites. The aim of this research is to classify multi-scale geospatial cave objects, analyze the data for prehistoric habitation reconstruction, and develop a three-dimensional model to preserve the Cultural Heritage Site of Pawon Cave. Data acquisition was conducted using a multi-sensor approach, including Terrestrial Laser Scanner, airborne photogrammetry, airborne LiDAR, structure light scanner, and solidstate LiDAR. The quality of measurement results from each sensor was validated. The processed data was transformed into three-dimensional models. Validation between the model and field conditions yielded values below 1 cm using terrestrial acquisition, while airborne acquisition had values below 45 cm. Scale level analysis was performed, resulting in three levels: macro-scale for mapping the Pawon Cave area and its surroundings; meso-scale for documenting Pawon Cave and Barong Cave; and micro-scale for documenting detailed features and objects. The three-dimensional models were able to record and reconstruct the main chambers of Pawon Cave and Barong Cave, as well as potential excavation sites within Pawon Cave. Three-dimensional modeling has the potential to introduce the Cultural Heritage Site of Pawon Cave and its surroundings through virtual tours. This research could have a positive impact on the conservation and preservation of the Cultural Heritage Site of Pawon Cave. text |

The Cultural Heritage Site of Pawon Cave and its surrounding area has been studied
for over 20 years; however, accessible geospatial data remains limited. The utilization
of Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) presents a non-intrusive method for
archaeologists, reducing the risk of damage to archaeological targets and aiding in the
preservation of cave sites. The aim of this research is to classify multi-scale geospatial
cave objects, analyze the data for prehistoric habitation reconstruction, and develop a
three-dimensional model to preserve the Cultural Heritage Site of Pawon Cave. Data
acquisition was conducted using a multi-sensor approach, including Terrestrial Laser
Scanner, airborne photogrammetry, airborne LiDAR, structure light scanner, and solidstate
LiDAR. The quality of measurement results from each sensor was validated. The
processed data was transformed into three-dimensional models. Validation between
the model and field conditions yielded values below 1 cm using terrestrial acquisition,
while airborne acquisition had values below 45 cm. Scale level analysis was performed,
resulting in three levels: macro-scale for mapping the Pawon Cave area and its surroundings;
meso-scale for documenting Pawon Cave and Barong Cave; and micro-scale
for documenting detailed features and objects. The three-dimensional models were able
to record and reconstruct the main chambers of Pawon Cave and Barong Cave, as well
as potential excavation sites within Pawon Cave. Three-dimensional modeling has the
potential to introduce the Cultural Heritage Site of Pawon Cave and its surroundings
through virtual tours. This research could have a positive impact on the conservation
and preservation of the Cultural Heritage Site of Pawon Cave. |
