Various potentials are scattered in every region within the Malang Regency. One of the most significant potentials is the natural resources, attributed to the fact that Malang Regency is surrounded by coastal areas and some of its regions are mountainous. However, this potential has not been fully utilized, as evidenced by its relatively low economic growth. This project is a resort accommodation located on one of the beaches in the South Malang region. The resort includes lodging facilities and is equipped with recreational facilities that support the tourism potential in the surrounding area. These facilities provide various opportunities for relaxation activities for visitors. The project occupies an area of 27,400 square meters in the Gaharejo Village, Gedangan Sub-district, Malang Regency. The project is initiated by the Bajulmati Sea Turtle Conservation Institute (BTSC) with the assistance of CSR and in collaboration with the Malang Regency Tourism Office. This aligns with the mission of the Malang Regency to boost the economy through the tourism sector. The design issues for this project arise from the project typology, which is a resort, and issues related to the site conditions. Design issues include creating a design that emphasizes the natural experience as the main attraction for tourism, architectural designs that provide a relaxing effect for visitors, and site and building designs that ensure the safety of visitors. The natural experience is maximized through the arrangement and orientation of buildings on the site, capturing the natural ambiance through sensory elements. The relaxation effect is achieved through zoning arrangements on the site and the provision of various recreational and relaxation facilities tailored to different visitor categories. Safety and comfort for visitors are realized through designs that comply with regulations and easily accessible circulation designs. The project consists of compound masses grouped and arranged according to function, activities, and the hierarchy of each building. The layout maximizes the potential of natural scenery and privacy levels for each building mass. Building materials are dominated by warm colors such as wood and brick, intended to provide a relaxing and tranquil effect for visitors. text |
