| Summary: | Admission of new students is one of the processes in educational institutions to screen prospective students who are selected according to the specified criteria. In general, the process of admitting new students is carried out through the stages of registration, file selection and acceptance of students. This research is motivated by the new student admission activities carried out by SMAS IT Ulil Albab Batam every year. The reality in the field is that the school in organizing the selection still uses a manual method which results in less efficient selection activities for new students. To handle this, in this project a decision support system will be conducted using the k- Nearest Neighbor (k-NN) method. The system will be classified into several criteria, namely: parents' income, TPA score, school origin, accreditation of the school of origin, achievement, elective program and the number of memorization of the Quran. Furthermore, an application of system will be made on Microsoft excel with Visual Bacis for Application (VBA). The result of this application is in the form of a decision to accept new students who are classified in 1st priority or 2nd priority categories. |
