Apart from its contribution to the state budget, there are also things that must be considered from the mining sector, namely the negative impacts that may arise where one of them is the potential for mining water formation. Mining water generally has a nonneutral pH and high TSS content so that it has the potential to pollute the surrounding environment, reduce the quality of water bodies, and can also potentially interfere with health. For this reason, the government has set environmental quality standards that must be met by business actors so that pollution does not occur. Fulfillment of these quality standards can be done through mine water treatment with environmental technologies, one of which is through Chemical Coagulation. PT. Kaltim Prima Coal has carried out mine water treatment, where mining water originating from several catchment areas (DTA) is flowed into a detention pond that functions as a discharge control, mine water mixed in this pond will be homogeneous / uniform. Most of the water is absorbed into the ground, and some will flow to the main treatment unit, with treatment for each pit using different coagulants as needed. This study was conducted to see whether mining water comes from one of the catchment areas (DTA), especially for the turbidest mining water, whether it can be treated directly with conventional coagulants without having to enter the detention pond first. This study was also conducted to determine the type and dose of the optimum coagulant in treating the mine water. Mine water is treated through Chemical Coagulation with the Jar test method, 3 different types of coagulants are used, namely Al2 (SO) 4, PAC, and Kurita which are polymer type coagulants. Mine water treated with each coagulant showed a decrease in TSS levels from the original 15730 ppm down to below 100 ppm. The optimum dose for each coagulant is Al2(SO)4 700 mg/L, PAC 700 mg/L, and Curita 400 mg/L. Determination of the type and dose of the optimum coagulant is done by taking into account the amount of coagulant needed to treat the water sample/m3, and how much processing costs need to be incurred to process the water/m3 sample. text |

Mining is one of the sectors that contributes to the state budget with the highest value.

standards can be done through mine water treatment with environmental technologies,
one of which is through Chemical Coagulation.
PT. Kaltim Prima Coal has carried out mine water treatment, where mining water
originating from several catchment areas (DTA) is flowed into a detention pond that
functions as a discharge control, mine water mixed in this pond will be homogeneous /
uniform. Most of the water is absorbed into the ground, and some will flow to the main
treatment unit, with treatment for each pit using different coagulants as needed.
This study was conducted to see whether mining water comes from one of the catchment
areas (DTA), especially for the turbidest mining water, whether it can be treated directly
with conventional coagulants without having to enter the detention pond first. This study
was also conducted to determine the type and dose of the optimum coagulant in treating
the mine water.
Mine water is treated through Chemical Coagulation with the Jar test method, 3 different
types of coagulants are used, namely Al2 (SO) 4, PAC, and Kurita which are polymer
type coagulants. Mine water treated with each coagulant showed a decrease in TSS levels
