Summary: | The Terjun Final Processing Site (TPA) is located north of the center of
Medan City, namely in Terjun Village, Medan Marelan District, Medan City,
North Sumatra Province and has been operating since 1993. Currently the
Terjun TPA is under the control and supervision of the City Cleaning and
Parks Service Medan. The location used for this landfill is an empty land
covering an area of 100 ha. The condition of the land currently used by TPA
Terjun is empty land located close to residential areas in Medan City. TPA
Terjun serves Medan Amplas District, Medan Maimun District, Medan
Polonia District, Medan Kota District, Medan Johor District, Medan
Tuntungan District, and 15 others district. TPA Terjun currently has an office,
a weigh bridge before entering the landfill area, as well as an active zone and
it is planned for a new zone to be opened. The landfill system that will be used
is a sanitary landfill.
The leachate discharge that will be used as a basis for planning the units in
the IPL is 1.8 L/second. Based on a comparison of the results of literature
data analysis, several pollutant parameters exceed quality standards such as
COD reaching 2940 mg/L, BOD 1280 mg/L, and TSS 168 mg/L. Based on the
results of the weighting carried out, the processing alternative selected for the
Terjun IPL is a leachate processing package consisting of Anaerobic -
Facultative - Maturation - Landtreatment / Wetland Ponds. This alternative
was chosen considering the ratio of BOD and COD values resulting in a
comparison figure of 0.44, which means it requires primary biological
treatment. The estimated effluent from leachate treatment results such as
COD reached 42,33 mg/l, BOD 20,04 mg/l, and TSS 20,16 mg/l. With the total
investment cost of the leachate treatment unit is Rp.39,250,856,852, -. |
