Description
Summary:This study examines the economic impact of tourism activities in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ) on its buffer zone in Pujut District, Central Lombok Regency. The research methodology used includes primary data analysis from direct interviews in the field as well as secondary data derived from statistical data, planning documents, and other documents that have relevance. The results show that despite the increase in employment opportunities and local income due to tourism, people living in the buffer zone still face challenges in meeting employment standards and are often only able to obtain low-wage jobs. The development of Mandalika SEZ also has an impact on local revenue, although it has not been maximized by the local government due to a lack of transparency and coordination with developers. This study concludes that tourism in Mandalika SEZ has both positive and negative impacts on the local economy with recommendations to improve skills training, integration of MSMEs to increase local profits, as well as improved incentive systems and coordination between the government and developers.
