Summary: | The Cimahi City Government initiated the "Cimenteng Ecotourism Park Cimahi
City" at Cimenteng Ecotourism Park (EWIC) with a focus on education in
plantations, animal husbandry, culture, and the natural environment. EWIC, which
opened in 2022, has not been optimal in providing ecotourism activities. The
placemaking and ecotourism approaches, which emphasize community
participation and sustainable development, integrated with the 4A components, can
be a solution to identify the necessary values and formulate recommendations for
more effective ecotourism development. This study aims to identify the development
of tourism objects in Cimenteng Ecotourism Park (EWIC) based on 4A components
and the placemaking and ecotourism approaches. The research approach used is a
normative research approach which aims to analyze, interpreting, and evaluate
normative values according to the approach, as well as understand their
implications. The methods used in this research include literature studies, scoring
analysis, and qualitative descriptive analysis.
This research successfully identified 20 placemaking and ecotourism
variables and 43 research objects based on 4A components to assess the level of
placemaking and ecotourism in EWIC. The analysis results show that EWIC is in
the "sufficient" category and requires improvement in several variables and
objects that are still lacking and not yet available. This research can identify and
assess the quality of EWIC more deeply and produce more comprehensive and
focused recommendations than previous research at this location. This research
makes an important contribution to the development of ecotourism theory and
practice by integrating the concepts of placemaking and 4A components, as well as
providing a framework and practical guidelines for the development of sustainable
and community-oriented ecotourism. |
