Summary: | The growth of cities causes a process of social development that encourages
changes in the characteristics of rural areas. This change can be called the ruralurban transformation process. Rural areas that will experience this process first,
are areas that are located around / on the outskirts of large cities. One such area
is Mekarmukti Village, Cihampelas Sub-district, West Bandung Regency, which is
located close to the Bandung Metropolitan Area. This transformation puts
pressure in the form of economic diversification, deagrarianization, digitalization,
and dependence on cities. To deal with these pressures, villages must be able to
achieve sustainable livelihood conditions in order to recover and overcome the
existing pressures. To achieve this condition, the smart village concept will be
applied. The development of the smart village concept requires support from
various aspects including human capital and social capital. Therefore, it is
necessary to identify the prospects for the development of human capital and
social capital development in the smart village concept. The Rapid Rural
Appraisal (RRA) approach was used to obtain information related to human
capital and social capital in Mekarmukti Village. Data collection was carried out
using the interview method. Data analysis used qualitative analysis, gap analysis,
and scenario planning analysis. The results showed that Mekarmukti Village has
good prospects for developing human capital and social capital to support the
smart village concept. The development prospect is supported by the potential of
human capital and social capital, but the potential is not ideal enough to support
the smart village concept. Therefore, capacity building through learning climate
strategy is needed |
