Description
Summary:The research examines the heritage tourism products of Pura Mangkunegaran in Surakarta City. The aim of this research is to identify tourist perceptions of the heritage tourism products of Pura Mangkunegaran. The research method used is a combination of quantitative and qualitative (mixed methods). A quantitative approach was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 111 respondents regarding characteristics, travel patterns and perceptions of tourists. The research results show that tourists give the highest assessment to the components of heritage tourism, including the usefulness of educational programs, the richness of cultural and historical elements, heritage preservation efforts, and the participation of local communities. Subsequently, a qualitative approach was conducted through observations of heritage tourism products and interviews with Mangkunegaran Temple’s stakeholder and the Surakarta City Regional Government. The research results explain that the Mangkunegaran Temple tourism product is good and its achievements must be maintained and improve some of its weaknesses. Various efforts have also been made by the two relevant stakeholders. It’s hoped that this research can contribute to academics, practitioners and policy makers in improving the quality and sustainable competitiveness of heritage tourism in Indonesia.
