Summary: | Urbanization and the continuously increasing population growth are making the city of Bandung more densely populated. Population density increases the need for housing and due to limited land, housing prices are becoming increasingly high and unaffordable for the younger generation. In addition, negative perceptions of density and lack of social interaction in high-density areas are causing stress and loneliness among the younger generation. Co-living is an example of housing that pays attention to social sustainability through the design of collective facilities between residents. This is because the use of collective facilities can increase social interaction, build a sense of community between residents and make housing more cost-effective. Therefore, this study aims to design housing for the younger generation that pays attention to social sustainability through implementing strategies to increase social interaction, efficiency of private and communal spaces, as well as creating an environment with sensory comfort. |
