Description
Summary:The approach to sustainable tourism is expected to gain increasing importance as tourism growth and resource pressure continue over the next 20 years. Bandung, specifically, often faces congestion and rising temperatures. Although walking tours is not widely recognized, it can be applied as a sustainable tourism development strategy in Bandung City. This study aims to identify the impact of visitors' motivation on decisions to engage in walking tours within the urban tourism area of Bandung City. Data collection methods used in this study are questionnaires to respondents who have done walking tours in Bandung City and interviews with selected respondents. The research begins by identifying the characteristics of push factors, pull factors, and the respondents' decision-making processes regarding walking tours, using a quantitative descriptive analysis method based on questionnaire results. Based on these results, the impact of push and pull factors on respondents' decisions to do walking tours is analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis to identify variables with significant effects. The research findings indicate that visitor motivation, particularly push and pull factors, significantly influences the decision to engage in walking tours in Bandung City's urban tourism area. Specifically, variables related to health, pleasure and satisfaction, knowledge, and the friendly behavior of the local community are significant. Furthermore, the push factor indicator of relaxation and the pull factor indicators of historical narratives of tourist sites and social media promotion demonstrate significant effects in partial tests. This study produces strategies for optimizing visitor motivation to engage in walking tours through the collaboration of various stakeholders to develop sustainable urban tourism in Bandung City.
