According to data from the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia, there were 11,016 cases of sexual assault that occurred in Indonesia throughout 2022, exceeding all other cases of assault. This case is increasing from year to year, in fact the number of sexual assault cases in 2022 has reached double the number of cases in 2021. Of all these cases, the majority of victims are women and children. Sexual assault causes various impacts on the victims, including physical, psychological and social impacts. Of these three impacts, the most difficult to heal is the psychological impact of victims of sexual assault. Prolonged psychological impacts can cause post-traumatic disorder (PTSD) which can lead to a more acute level of depression if not treated quickly. This problem will not be resolved if it is only handled from one side, it must be handled from two sides, both from prevention and management. On the other hand, the increasing number of sexual assault is not in line with the increasing quality of existing rehabilitation facilities. There have even been cases of sexual assault again at one of these facilities, even though it should be a place of protection and safe healing for survivors because environmental factors are the most important factor in a person's healing. Therefore, safe facilities for preventing and handling sexual assault are needed to support an ideal environment for healing for survivors of sexual assault. text |
