The redesign of the coal storage shed in the Jawa 9 & 10 Coal Fired Steam Power Plant Project is significant to provide an alternative reference for structural design to support coal utilization. In the design process, preliminary design determines the system, configuration, and material of the structure based on load analysis and reference standards. Following the preliminary design, software calculations are verified using manual calculations to check failure modes of structural elements and connections based on applicable standards. The coal shed is planned to use an arch steel truss frame system for its efficiency in long-span structures (96 m). As a seismic force-resisting system, a special truss moment-resisting frame system and ordinary moment-resisting frame system are employed. The design is based on capacity design per reference standards. Steel structure calculations are conducted using software and manual calculations to verify failure modes based on applicable standards. The design output includes dimensions, types, and specifications of structural elements and connections. The overall final design results are represented through comprehensive technical drawing visualizations. The hope is that this work can serve as a reference for future alternatives related to relevant aspects discussed herein. text |
