Description
Summary:Since prehistoric times to the modern era, humanity has consistently evolved across various facets of life. Human development has been driven by the need to confront change. Change is often viewed as an opportunity for growth, learning, and innovation, yet it can also introduce uncertainty. The challenges and opportunities of the future will be shaped by ongoing global developments. Adaptation becomes crucial to meet forthcoming changes effectively and devise pertinent, innovative solutions. Creativity emerges as a pivotal form of adaptation in this context. In Bandung, creativity has deep historical roots dating back to colonial times, where community welfare served as a strong foundation. Initiatives in creativity were spearheaded by local residents who recognized diverse potentials and encouraged the people of Bandung to explore new horizons. Bandung was officially recognized as a creative city in 2008, underscoring its commitment to fostering creativity across various sectors. Presently, Indonesia's creative economy encompasses 17 subsectors, including architecture. However, architecture often plays a secondary role, primarily facilitating other subsectors rather than leading. The primary aim of this project is to stimulate the development of the architecture subsector within Indonesia's creative economy, specifically in Bandung. This objective is pursued through the establishment of facilities that nurture creativity and foster collaboration among architects and related disciplines, particularly in fields such as interior and product design. Another key objective is to popularize architecture by creating inclusive learning environments accessible to all. The project's design phase must address critical considerations such as flexibility and timeless design principles, catalysts for creativity and productivity, advancement of architecture through collaborative efforts, and the creation of restorative environments. In addition to tackling design challenges, strategic approaches are implemented to effectively respond to site-specific conditions, particularly in relation to massing.
