One effective distribution method is through the installation of gas pipelines using various crossing techniques, including Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), open cut, and auger boring methods. This research focuses on a case study of pipeline crossing in the Cirebon area. The primary objective of this research is to determine whether the selected route is suitable for gas pipeline installation and to calculate the stresses occurring in the pipeline during operation. The research process begins with theoretical calculations of loads and stresses. These theoretical stress results are then compared with stress criteria for HDD, open cut, and auger boring methods during installation, operation, and hydrostatic testing. To validate the theoretical results, modeling using Ansys software is employed for pipeline installation stress using the HDD method. The use of this software aims to ensure that the theoretical calculations align with actual field conditions. The analysis results indicate that the crossing method used can significantly affect the stresses experienced by the pipeline during both installation and operation. This analysis is crucial as it provides guidance in selecting the appropriate crossing method and ensures that the pipeline installation meets established safety standards. Additionally, the research identifies standard operating procedures (SOP) that must be followed for the open cut crossing method, aiming to reduce the risk of damage, leakage, or fatal accidents that could disrupt the gas transportation process. text
