This research is motivated by the need to assess the sustainability of indigenous communities using specific criteria and indicators. This is because indigenous communities apply traditional values and knowledge in their daily activities, necessitating special indicators to evaluate their sustainability. This study aims to identify the sustainability of the indigenous communities of Kampung Naga in Tasikmalaya and Kampung Kuta in Ciamis, two indigenous communities with different levels of openness to modern influences. Generally, the assessment tool used is a modification of the Sustainability Assessment of Indigenous Communities (SAIC) framework, which consists of 55 indicators and 9 criteria. Data collection methods include questionnaires, interviews, and field observations. Quantitative analysis is employed to determine the level of community sustainability, while qualitative data analysis is used to identify the application of traditional knowledge through coding and comparative analysis. The research results show that there are differences in the level of sustainability between the two communities studied. Kampung Kuta is considered to have higher sustainability in three categories compared to Kampung Naga. Both communities have applied traditional knowledge to enhance their sustainability, including limiting the use of space and natural resources and increasing social interaction and cohesion. text |
