The third place is a place for people to gather informally and happily outside of their homes and workplaces. The third place can be cafes, libraries, stalls, and various other gathering places. Students can also take advantage of various places outside the campus to interact with other students, even the general public. The campus is one of the places that students can use to gather. Apart from being a place for teaching and learning, the campus can play a role as a place of social interaction for students. Therefore, a third place as a place for social interaction for students can also be formed on campus. Based on research precedents, social interaction places on campus are in the form of various student social interaction rooms on campus such as canteens, campus lobbies, parks, hallways/hallways, parks, wifi rooms, campus mosques, and the places of Student Activity Unit. The ITB Cirebon Campus in Arjawinangun District has only been operating actively for about 2 years and is still in the construction stage. Therefore, the availability and quality of space services at the ITB Cirebon Campus have not fully accommodated students' informal activities. In addition, there are not many gathering places around the ITB Cirebon Campus that are known to be suitable as a third place for students. Therefore, further research is needed on the existence and condition of the third place as a place of social interaction for ITB Cirebon Campus students. This study uses the collection of primary and secondary data to obtain data related to the place of student social interaction and its conditions, both provided by the campus and those used by ordinary students. The data was processed and further studied using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques to describe the existence and suitability of the characteristics of the third place of students. There is a supporting analysis, namely a simple spatial analysis in the form of mapping the distribution of the location of the third place for students who are inside the campus area and outside the campus, namely in Cirebon Regency or Cirebon City. The results of the study show that the third place can be inside and outside the campus, as a forum for social interaction of ITB Cirebon Campus students. In fact, students tend to use places within the ITB Cirebon Campus more often for social interaction. The third place for students on campus is in the form ofv an outdoor area of the building, corridors/balconies of the building, terraces/hallways of the building, and other common facilities. Meanwhile, the third place outside the campus is sports facilities, malls, supermarkets, minimarkets, restaurants/cafes, houses/food stalls, food stalls, squares, and entertainment venues. This research is expected to be a learning and input for students, the campus, researchers, and the government, both in the use and provision of a third place as a place for social interaction for students or other groups. text
