Summary:Indonesia is a country with a high population which results in an increase in food needs as well. One of the main food sources besides rice, Indonesians consume tubers such as sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L) cilembu var clone Rancing Jawer. Monoculture production of sweet potatoes still results in low productivity. One of the efforts to increase sweet potato productivity can be done through the use of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR). PGPR are soil microbes around plant roots that function to increase plant growth (biostimulants), provide nutrients for plants (biofertilizer), and prevent plants from pathogen attacks (bioprotectant). This study aims to evaluate the concentration of plant growth promoting rhizhobacteria (PGPR) in sweet potato with monoculture system. Observations were made on total biomass wet weight, shoot-root ratio, harvest index, productivity, and total soluble solids of sweet potato varieties cilembu clone Rancing Jawer. PGPR spraying was conducted once a week for 5 months with various concentrations of 0 g/L, 10 g/L, 20 g/L, and 30 g/L. The results showed that the application of Plant growth promoting rhizhobacteria (PGPR) in the production of sweet potato varieties cilembu clone Rancing Jawer monoculture system had no significant effect on productivity, shoot root ratio, harvest index, total wet weight and total soluble solids. The value of total soluble solids in this study is high, which is between 9-13% brix. Increasing biomass yield by using PGPR can be integrated with the use of adequate fertilizer.
