Traditional slope stability analysis have been made on the basis of the allowable Factor of Safety (FoS) and used single value estimates for each parameter in the slope stability equations. Probabilistic method offers a more systematic way to treat uncertainties in parameters used for slope stability analysis and give an alternative to FOS approach namely Probability of Failure (PoF). In this research, the model was composed of single slope of coal, mudstone, and sandstone with slope heights of 12 m, 16 m, 24 m and slope angles of 400, 500, 600, 700, 800 then continuing to overall slope analysis for section A, B, and C. Finite element method is used to calculte safety of factor while point estimate method is used to calculte the PoF with cohesion and friction angle as its random independent variables. Probabilic analysis showed larger slope angle and height gave larger PoF. Mudstone has the highest PoF from all litholgy. Based on POF ? 25%, maximum angle of slope 12 m height was 600 and maximum angle of slope 16 m was 450. Overall slope analysis showed that secion A has 0.78% POF, section B has 19.65% POF, and Section C has 11.38% POF text |
